Rescue Me ID: 16-09-01-00005Harvey (male)

Treeing Walker Coonhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Personality: High Energy
Health: Vaccinations Current

***PLEASE NOTE -- THIS IS A COURTESY POST. HARVEY IS WITH ANOTHER RESCUE. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING HIM, PLEASE EMAIL: lisa@hotblownglass.com****** Harvey Harvey-bagarvey-tooturally!! This super energetic happy go lucky fellow gets his bounding fun-loving nature from his husky/hound/pitty mixology. Harvey sure is a handsome fellow that LOVES to play with his foster siblings. He will play with whoever wants to play. His enthusiasm keeps from a serious long-term training session. We are still working on some counter surfing. He enjoys looking at what I have up there but doesn't take anything down. When Harvey first arrived on a ... (Read More)rescue transport out of Georgia, he seemed extremely thin. But having filled out, it is just his breed mix and energy level that keeps him having such a handsome physique. Harvey has overcome his crating issues, he is okay with going in and having down time, (but without bedding) Bedding is a great tugowar material. He also had to learn his collar was an okay thing! On occasion is seems as though he remembers that some had treated him badly having to do with his collar. Now, it's all excitement about the collar and leash to go for a walk. With him being part husky he will need a large fenced yard to burn off his energy. A short walk in the evening will not do!! Harvey weighs @60lbs. and is 1-2yrs old. I send all my dogs out current on shots. He is neutered and microchipped. Heartworm negative and takes monthly heartworm preventative. He keeps a close eye on what's outside the fence and will sound the alarm and let you know he sees 'it'. Unknown-what he thinks about cats. He is okay with small dogs with a good introduction. Harvey has no food aggression issues. He waits for snacks with his buddies. While I work at the counter'|he is a leaner, leaning against the back or side of my leg. Adoption guidelines: I require a home visit to observe what the home living environment will be with you. I require a vet reference. 100.00 adoption fee I have found that my dogs do best when potential adopters give of their time and come to visit at least twice and hang out and walk with them and mingle and get to know them well. Especially, with the big boys and girls...can people handle a medium to large dog. And a signed contract that DSR dogs will be returned to me and Doggies Serious Rescue if it does not work out, in any time frame. (Less)

Treeing Walker Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet our big, handsome Todd. He was a roadie before he was rescued. Most likely abandoned on the highway, he was wandering on his own, looking for someone to love and take care of him. He didn't know where his next meal would come from, and he was definitely thirsty from days in the hot sun. Now at the shelter, with a clean bed, regular eats and a large bowl of fresh water, he is a quiet, laid back resident. He is obviously very smart and definitely a people-pleaser who is attentive to direction and loves attention, and such a gentle soul. Todd is potty trained and he loves loves loves toys to play with. He is a trusted resident and our care ... (Read More)workers are able to allow him to run loose around the shelter while they clean. He never has an accident. He never gets in the other dogs' faces. Just walks up and down the aisle with his toy in his mouth, wagging his tail and enjoying his freedom. Todd spent a little time with a foster family who said he was affectionate, 'a teddy bear' and 'just a big soft lap dog'. A home with special people of his own is what he wants most in life. And it's exactly what Todd deserves. So...What's in YOUR home? Adoption Fee: $100 Apply: www.duboiscountyhumane.org/apply.html (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-10-00396Bruce (male)

Treeing Walker Coonhound    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bruce was surrendered to Pals 4 Paws hoping they could find him a home. His dad could not take care of him any longer, or even himself. We were contacted because the rescue that had him has a hard time finding homes for Coonhounds. So Hoosier Hooves & Hounds took Bruce into their rescue. When Bruce got to our rescue he was in desperate need of some groceries. He weighed in at 32 pounds. He still needs to put on some more weight. That should not be an issue for Bruce, he does not turn down anything. He is crate trained, loves going for walks, he would do best in a home with no cats because he likes them a little to much. He does well ... (Read More)with other dogs but keep in mind I am still a puppy & I do want to play with most other dogs i meet & not all dogs are so welcoming to that. He loves to play with tennis balls & chew bones. He is good with kids & loves car rides & does well. My adoption fee is $125.00. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-22-00136Juno (female)

Treeing Walker Coonhound    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Juno is a good dog, and while she is cared for she is not happy. She has room to run but she wants to hunt and living in the city is not conducive to that. She is good with our boys but she typically shows little interest. However, she has had some basic training and is house broken. With some work, I think she'd make a great hunting dog. We do not know exactly how old she is. The boarder we have used felt she was pretty young but the shelter where we got her said she could be 3-6. We just want her to be able to be the doc she was meant to be and we can't give that to her.

She is very friendly and probably good with kids, we just don't know. She is very good with adults and our female cocker. Don't know her exact age but she seems very young. Checked out by vet, no obvious significant problems. Seems thin though. Likes to play and run.

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-04-00344Josephine (female)

Treeing Walker Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Josie: 4 year old coonhound/bloodhound mix Great with dogs, people, children Potty trained Josephine's forever home must have a fenced yard and a doggie companion. We can't say enough about Josie! She's definitely a keeper! Despite her large size, she thinks she's a lap dog and will crawl up on to you and fall asleep if given half a chance. Although not overly active, she does need to engage in play and get stimulation regularly or she gets bored and gets into mischief ... meaning she follows her hound nose and gets in the garbage or pulls food off the counters, the little stinker! But keep her invigorated with ... (Read More)distractions and romping in the yard and she's a perfect house guest. She will then be found lounging on her favorite piece of furniture, waiting patiently for some love and affection. Josie is great with other dogs of all sizes; she prefers semi-active companions with whom she can play chase but also hang out and watch the world go by. Her bloodhound heritage is evident in her clumsy gait, her long ears and her keen nose. She does have a deep bay but doesn't howl inordinantly; she lets loose when she sees a squirrel or a rabbit but otherwise is relatively quiet. Let us know if you'd like to adopt this love bug! Her adoption fee is $150. She's spayed, microchipped and current on vaccinations. We require an adoption application be filled out before a meet and greet is set up. This does not obligate you to adopt, it just helps us determine if a particular dog would be a good fit for your household. An adoption application can be found at www.waldosmuttleycrew.org (Less)
