Rescue Me ID: 17-11-16-00036Copper (male)

Treeing Walker Coonhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Copper is 14 months old and about 55 pounds. He's very friendly and energetic. House and crate trained and some level of obedience training (he can sit, shake, stay and sometimes come). He does bark when left alone....so , not an apartment dog ! ************************************** Copper was adopted at 4 months & is being re-homed..he is 10 months old and up to date on shots. Born Sept 5th, 2016. He is house trained, crate trained, knows~ sit, stay, come and shake. He is very energetic.. loves a lot of play time and attention as well as walks. He loves other dogs and meeting new people. The family has 3 children. ... (Read More)http://www.wral.com/lifestyles/pets/video/16303994/ This video from Dec.. 4th is still currant on Bullet ! loves to play FETCH. As far as the barking, he is not often left for long periods in his crate since the kids and I are usually home, he has a loud bark. For instance, we let him outside and he will run into the backyard ; He barks at neighbors dog, when he is out.. And even though we live in a house, he is loud enough that the neighbors can hear him and complain. He's fine at his own bedtime though and goes right into his crate and never barks during the night so I'm not sure why he barks so much during the day. Maybe he is just a 'talkative' dog. Copper may just need some additional crate training or may need a walk before being crated in the mornings to curb his barking, as he is still a puppy. *Our RescueMe listings are updated weekly.     Daisy is a 3 1/2 year old Walker Coonhound. She is the sweetest dog. A little skittish of loud noises and some objects frighten her. We rescued her from the local shelter two months ago. Unfortunately, we have determined that she needs a place where she can RUN and be outside more than we can provide. She is crate trained and stays in the house. Inside the house she is VERY calm and lazy! If you let her she will try to be a lap dog, all 45 lbs of her! If you leave the door open she will BOLT right outside! Outside she is playful and happy!! She loves being outside, unfortunately we do not have a fenced in yard and live very close ... (Read More)to a busy road. We don't want to give her up but it is her best interest that we do so.     This dog was a rescue from an ASPCA rescue animal event held in 2016. I'm looking for a new home for him. When I rescued him he was not house trained, he had heart worms, and he was food aggressive. I got his heart worms treated and he is now heart worm free, he is potty trained and his food aggression is MUCH better. I think he was at one point someones hunting dog but he is VERY scared of guns. I have three children and one other dog and he is good with all of them. He has a good temperament, not very good on a leash but when he has a harness on he is much better. My husband is deployed, I work, go to school and have three children and Max ...     Hi there folks! I am George!! Curious as can be and good looking to boot! I am a senior around age 8. Treeing Walker Coonhound is the breed. Sniffing is what I love to do! As well as be loved on by you. I am sweet and kind. I would do fine with other dogs but I would chase cats as I have that hunter dog prey drive. I am HW free which is a miracle. So how did I get here to FCHS you ask. Well on a day a few months ago I was tired of being alone and on the go. I found a wonder horse stall in covered barn. It was warm and the hay was thick. The thing is as much as I loved it there I was told a family is even better and I tend to ... (Read More)agree. So I am in foster care. Do you loves seniors? Am I your guy? To adopt me $225 FCHS is getting me neutered, UTD on shots, microchipped and ready for you. Please do not pass me by due to my age. I have more love to give you. www.fchsnc.org/adoptable-dogs (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-11-13-00173Blackberry (male)

Treeing Walker Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered

Blackberry is a 4-year-old tri-colored hound mix in foster in the Charlotte area. He weighs about 65 lbs. Here is an update from his foster: Blackberry is house and crate trained. He does howl if you put him in crate at night because he prefers to sleep on the couch (we don't crate him at night anymore since he doesn't have accidents anymore). LOVES kids!!! LOVES!! He is rambunctious and knocks Isabella (1 year old) down a lot, so older kids may be best (unless the parents are like us and don't mind their kid getting knocked down some....). He is gentle with her and lets her lay all over him! He loves to be outside when the older kids in ... (Read More)the neighborhood are out and goes up to each and everyone of them to get some love! Walks decently on leash (still a work in progress). He will pee on leash but it takes him a while to poop on leash, but we have a fenced yard so we usually just let him poop out there. Needs at least a 6 foot fence or to be on leash at all times!! We have a 4 1/2 foot fence that he can jump over easily! He can probably get over a 6 foot fence too if there something against the fence for him to jump on to help him over. LOVES food and treats. He always takes treats nicely unless the rest of the other dogs are around and then he can get kind of choppy because he is worried that they're going to steal it. The only time I have ever seen him snarl at the other dogs is when he is in his crate eating and they go over to sniff his bowl. I can put my hand in his food bowl and take it away from him with no problems. He likes to chew on toys and will get a baby toy every now and then, but if you snap your fingers and tell him to leave it he just walks away. He really enjoys being petted and will stand there and let you pet and rub him as long as you will do it! He gets along well with all of our dogs, but does tend to buy a little hard while playing. We have not officially cat tested him but there are some feral cats that live around here that he will give the play position to but they just run away from him...so I can't give a good opinion on cats or small dogs. He is a hound and can be stubborn so teaching him to sit is also a work in progress....right now he just continuously backs up when I tried to get him to sit, so he hasn't mastered that yet. Overall, he is a very, very sweet dog and would be great in most any home. ******************************** LIKE US ON FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com/lovemuttsrescue Visit our WEBSITE www.lovemuttsrescue.org to find out more about our upcoming adoption events around the Triangle and which dogs will be there.
