Howdy there! My name is Franklin. I am about 5 years old and I weigh about 65 lbs. I was found as a stray in the Homeworth area. I had been running out in the neighborhood for at least a week or so. Nobody could catch me. I was fearful of everyone and everything. I was getting pretty hungry and finally was captured in a fenced yard by a lady who'd been trying to get me. The pound came out first thing the next morning and was able to catch me with in just a couple of minutes. I really warmed up fast and by the time she got to the pound with me I had really blossomed in to a very, very nice, sweet dog. I am the SWEETEST boy imaginable. I am a very personable dog. I love cuddling with people and I will (literally, very gently) cuddle up and hug you!!! I am also a very sweet and gentle soul with all of my dog friends I meet here at the pound. I am even very friendly and social with the small furry dogs. I am a very clean coonie boy. I keep my kennel clean at night. I am also very good in the office and will potty outside as long as I am taken outside often enough. If you're looking for an awesome, sweet, calm hound boy to add to your family, please consider adopting me. I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER APRIL 11, 2014. HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS. MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY NEUTER SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO. THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS. (Less)

Look at the hound dog face!!! This is one sweet, happy boy, although that face is just pitiful! Patrick loves everyone he meets. He is not a year old, and is doing very well in our training program. LOVES to romp and play with the other dogs. We suggest an active home with a fenced yard so he can run and play off leash, and then also be taken for leashed walks, too. That will keep him very happy and content at his young age. Patrick is quite social and loves the company of people including kids. We also suggest a cat-free home as well. Come meet this happy boy; you will fall in love.

|Rescue Me ID: 14-03-18-00546Copper (male)|
Copper is approx 3 years old. We believe he is a purebred but do not know for sure. He was recently rescued him from the dog shelter. We can not keep him but would prefer to find a good home rather than return him to the shelter. He would do best with older kids and an experienced dog owner. He loves people and children and but he jumps a lot, he has never been aggressive with our small children but he has hurt them accidentally from jumping on them. He is mostly house trained. We were told he was house trained but he had several accidents the first 2 days we had him. He quickly picked it up which leads us to believe at one time he was house trained. He only has accidents now if he goes too long without being let out. He won't have accidents in his crate but he does bark in his crate. He still chews a lot. He is VERY food motivated. He has no food aggression with people but needs to eat away from ot and children and but he jumps a lot, he has never been aggressive with our small children but he has hurt them accidentally from jumping on them. He came to us very skinny. He is very sweet and would likely make a good hunting dog but he will need someone who can work with him and won't give up on him. |Rescue Me ID: 14-03-06-00107Oliver (male)|
Oliver is 2 years old and very loving and playful. He gets long with our 2 children ages 11 & 12. He is house trained & crate trained. He is a hound breed and loves to follow his nose! Has a beautiful Bay and loves to talk to you! He varies with other animals in the home and has loved some and others not so much. He is always playful and friendly at dog parks when he has room to run and roam. Loves to play but also loves to snuggle up and he does think he is a 4 lb lap dog at times. Due to an increased sports training and travel schedule, we are looking for a good home for him to grow up in where he doesn't have to spend so much time in his crate. Looking for a home ASAP. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 13-12-26-00144Coppenhagen (male)|
This big guy is Coppenhagen. He is very laid back and likes to spend most of the day sleeping. He was adopted for a while but became very protective of his family and they returned him. He would do best in a quiet home with few visitors. He likes kids but because of his size should probably be in a home without very young children. He gets along with other dogs but has not been tested with cats. He is a total love bug with his humans. Application can be found at acapl.org.
