Watson, the one-eyed Coonhound is looking for a foster or forever home. His left eye has been removed due to an injury, there was no disease process involved with the eye and he does fine with one eye. We discovered in his first foster home that he should not be placed with cats. (He was moved from that home before any harm came to the resident cat.) We are seeking a foster or forever home for Watson with no cats or small animals. Although Watson has a good temperament and is friendly with people, we think his size and energy level would not be good with very young, small children. He needs some patient, consistent training and boundaries to ... (Read More)become comfortable and sure of his role in a home environment. Watson is a handsome, athletic and energetic Treeing Walker Coonhound. From his activity level and looks, we're estimating his age at 2-3 years. Watson makes friends easily with humans. Watson would be fine as an only dog or we'd recommend a home with other dogs around his size and no cats or other small animals. Watson loves 'the chase' , a securely fenced yard is a must. He will succeed in a home that allows him to get plenty of exercise to burn off some of his hound energy. Watson really wants to bond with a person of his own. He will definitely benefit from and bond with you through time spent together, obedience classes to learn good manners in his new home and he'd enjoy participating in hound related sports, activities and competitions. After all of that activity an afternoon nap on the couch or just chillin' with a special human friend would be Heaven for Watson . (Less)

Treeing Walker Coonhound    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

He was found starving in a corn field in July. We have filed a police report and called our local humane society and had no luck finding his owner. He needs a home. He is kennel trained. He does okay in the house but is very skittish. He will hide in a corner most of the time. Poor boy needs a yard to run in. He is free to a good home with a current vet reference. If you do not have a vet do not contact me. I have put over $300 into his medical care in the last few months and I won't be giving him away to someone who won't take care of him. He is not neutered. He is up to date on his shots.

Would you like a canine companion who can easily switch between active playmate and couch potato watching TV with you? Then Darcy's your girl! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's what we think might be Darcy's preferences in a forever home: a fenced yard, someone who's into hiking or camping because she LOVES the outdoors, someone who's into obedience training, someone who will let her up on the furniture, plus lots and lots of toys. She likes to chew on femur bones, deer antlers and also to shred soft toys. She would probably be content as the only dog in your home as she's very people ... (Read More)oriented. Kids would probably love her. She even likes to retrieve a ball occasionally! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darcy would like to sleep in bed with you but will also accept the couch as an alternative if you insist. No cats or small/furry/feathered pets because she has a high interest in chasing wildlife in our yard (especially squirrels) and our cat doesn't want to be around her even indoors. She likes to lean against you when you're petting her. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darcy is about 3 years old and her weight is probably down to 70 lb now (from a high of 80 lb). We think closer to 60-64 lb would be a better weight for her. We're thinking if you have kids, they should be age 10 and up due to her size and strength. She is solidly housebroken and has not had an accident in foster. ---------------------------------------------------- ADOPTION APPLICATION: (Less)

Snoopy is a handsome, 6-7 yr old adult hound dog who was recently brought to Tri-County Animal Rescue Center as a stray. He is a friendly and gentle dog; face to face he looks like a tall beagle. Snoopy weighs 60 lbs. He is a bit nervous and unsure in his new surroundings right now; he loves to be out in the yard, comes when you call him, and is as sweet as can be, sharing love and kisses before he turns and trots away again, to his post at the fence, carefully watching the cars pass by on Route 322. Anyone can tell he is just waiting for his pals Lucy, Linus, Woodstock, and Charlie Brown to find him and take him home. To meet this real ...
